The German and Panamanian artist Victor Ramón Stoljarow’s solo show takes Nibiru, the 12th discovered planet in the solar system in 2018, as a point of departure.
As the effects of industrial waste, global warming, and overpopulation wreak havoc on the world, Nibiru presents a redemptive opportunity for neocolonization in fulfilling the utopian ideal of humankind as a multi-planet species.
Through four videos on loop, Stoljarow reimagines cycles via movement; whether water, air, or bodies of human, extraterrestrial, or exoplanetary origins. In these revolutions, he interrogates society’s ability to enact real, sustainable change in confronting a polluted future.
